интервю от изложбата на TV7
Valentine’s Day Special is an exhibition by Yavor Boyanov including pictures made in the period 2011 – 2013. The paintings are inspired by Saint Valentine’s Day and also by personal experiences and momentary senses. They all bear the author’s emblematic grotesque, on the line between the comic and the horrible.
Black hearts – piranhas. Mutilated androgenic creatures… in love with themselves and/or suffering.
See the love through the sarcastic-depressive point of view of Yavor Boyanov.
“I am excited by the irrational, the paradoxical as well as by the ominous part of the Universe. I’m trying to reproduce the ideas maximally closer to the way that they appear in my subconscious, without any attempt to model and censor them through the consciousness.
In the present exhibition I’m throwing light on the dark aspects of the love with sarcastic humour. I’m accentuating on three topics: the love as a source of suffering, the lack of love and the hopeless narcissism. I do not present my categorical conclusions. Each picture reproduces the things that I felt in the moment of it’s creation. For me, the exhibition does not bear a negative message. In fact, there is not a concrete message… and it should not have to be. The observer chooses by himself how to interpret the visible.“
